Most of the footage we’ve gotten from Loki this far has left a lot to our imagination. That all tracks with the teasers’ timeline because there was still a significant amount of time before the series premiere. In fact, it’s only recently that we got a premiere date. That sentiment isn’t absent from the first official Loki trailer. Even though this trailer explains things a bit, we are still left with more questions than answers ahead of June 11th.
That mystery isn’t necessarily a bad thing because it appears to be a major theme on Loki. There’s a lot of timelines to hop to with a lot of mysterious fates in them. Plus, there’s the mystery of whether Owen Wilson‘s Mobius M. Mobius should even trust Loki on such a vital mission — saving reality.
As for Mobius M. Mobius, we get a slightly closer look at his bureaucracy’s job at the Time Variance Authority. We get to see more of the ins and outs of that work. The best part may be having to sign off on everything you’ve ever said when you’re brought into TVA.
The photos below confirm that Gugu Mbatha-Raw is playing Judge Renslayer, a name that will sound familiar to comic book fans. There’s also a glimpse of Sasha Lane in action. Then there’s a moment that we know we aren’t the only ones replaying it. There’s a quick moment when Loki looks likes he’s with Natasha on Vormir. He may be sitting with a Variant of Natasha. It’s more likely that this is an obvious misdirect by Marvel to keep us on our toes.
Most of all, this trailer reunites dedicated Loki fans with the trickster himself, played by the now-infamous Tom Hiddleston. It’s virtually impossible to imagine anyone else in the role now that Hiddleston has made it his own. There’s plenty of Loki being his glorious self in this trailer. From joking about stabbing people in the back to charming his way through a mission, we are seeing more of Loki than ever before.
It’s relevant to mention that this isn’t the same Loki we last saw in Avengers: Infinity War. This is Loki from The Avengers, so we are in for quite a rollercoaster. Buckle up!
