Apple gave the people what they wanted at today’s Apple Event, and I’m not talking about more Apple products. I’m talking about a Ted Lasso Season 2 teaser and a premiere date. That’s right; Ted Lasso returns Friday, July 23, on Apple TV+. Start the countdown, put a blue heart around the date on your calendar. Do whatever you need to do to remember the day.
Then again, I don’t think any of us will need to do much because there’s been a void in our lives ever since the Season 1 finale. That’s why I and so many others keep rewatching the series. That’s why Twitter exploded with love for this show as soon as the teaser dropped. Through all those rewatches and chats with our loved ones about Ted Lasso, the parasocial relationships strengthened, and the AFC Richmond family started to feel like an extension of our own.
No one needs a reminder of how difficult 2020 was at pretty much every turn. Ted Lasso was a haven for so many of us as we did everything we could to make it through. The show, its vibrant characters, and rich storytelling were a life raft when we needed to escape into a reality where people change, kindness matters, and hope isn’t silly.
Now, we have the joyous news that all of that is coming back tenfold in just a few short months. Kindness makes a comeback on Ted Lasso Season 2, according to the teaser, and we know that it won’t disappoint.
It’s also worth reminding you that the show’s already been renewed for Season 3 ahead of its Season 2 premiere.
The teaser below gives us a glimpse at where our favorite characters are headed next season. On the field and off, the team is doing everything it can to turn things around for AFC Richmond. That includes bringing in a sports psychologist, Sharon, played by I May Destroy You‘s Sarah Niles. Ted has to win her over, and I’m sure you know what that means. The biscuits are back!
That’s not all! There’s plenty of moments you’ll want to pause the teaser to catch, like Roy, Keeley, and Phoebe spending time together. Of course, some hilarious and heartfelt jokes are sprinkled throughout the two minutes in typical Ted Lasso fashion.
Don’t mind us; we’re going to keep watching this teaser (and Season 1, again) until July.
