We don’t have to say goodbye to our new, favorite comfort show any time soon! Apple TV+ picked up Ted Lasso for a third season ahead of production on Season 2. This is massive news for fans, like us, of the streaming service’s extremely popular comedy.
TV Line reported that Ted Lasso is Apple TV+’s No. 1 comedy and that viewership has grown since its premiere. That’s not shocking for anyone who has watched and fallen in love with Ted Lasso. It’s a show that you have to tell your friends and family to watch after just the first episode. It’s basically impossible not to root for every character on the show, besides Rupert, because they all play such integral roles in why this show is so successful.
Of course Jason Sudeikis stands out in the titular role. His performance simultaneously inspires the characters and the audience. We can’t get enough of his rallying speeches, no matter how outlandish they can become. Ted Lasso is one of the best comfort characters people lean on in 2020. It’s reassuring to know he won’t be leaving us any time soon.
Lucky for us, we have plenty of speeches and jokes to look forward to in the future. Production for Season 2 is set to start in London in January, according to Variety.
