I can’t even imagine what it would be like for anyone dating in the spotlight. But when you were one of the world most eligible bachelors and everyone watches your every move, we can’t even begin to fathom how hard it would be.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn’t have an easy time. They still don’t. But they have been open, more open than most, about their relationship.
Prince Harry was on Dax Shepard and Monica Padman‘s podcast, Armchair Expert and talked about a time when he had Meghan come and visit him in London.
“The first time that Meghan and I met up for her to come and stay with me, we met up in a supermarket in London, pretending that we didn’t know each other, so (we were) texting each other from the other side of the aisles,” he said on the podcast. “There were people looking at me, giving me all these weird looks, and coming up and saying, ‘Hi,’ or whatever. I texted her saying, ‘Is this the right one?’ And she said, ‘No, you want parchment paper,’ and I’m like, ‘Where’s the parchment paper?’ So, it was nice. I had a baseball cap on, looking down at the floor, don’t know how many times you’ve done that when walking down the street trying to stay incognito. It’s like, ‘Whoa, signpost! Oh, someone’s dog!’ It’s amazing how much chewing gum you see. … It’s a mess.”
These two are under so much scrutiny, I appreciate the fact that they are open and honest about their lives and that Prince Harry let us in on this moment from when they first started dating.
