The Jungle Cruise may not be the most exciting ride at Disneyland, but it was always one of my favorites. It just always felt like going to another world.
And now I am ready to go to another world with the movie inspired by the ride, Jungle Cruise starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt.
Johnson posted on his social media about the release date, which is a lot sooner than we expected. The movie will be coming to theaters and Disney+ premiere access on July 30th.
“On JULY 30th JUNGLE CRUISE hits theaters AND your homes worldwide 🚢 🗺” he started the post.
“It’s a pleasure to say WE’RE BACK IN THEATERS! 🎭,” he continued, “And it’s a pleasure to say, WE WILL ALSO COME TO YOU! 🏠.”
“Join my ace Emily Blunt (the female Indiana Jones) and myself on THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME as our DISNEY’s JUNGLE CRUISE hits theaters and your living rooms ON THE SAME DAY – JULY 30th. The most important thing with our movie was to ALWAYS take care of families around the world by giving you options to watch it. Audience first ☝🏾” he wrote.
If you aren’t familiar with the movie, “Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, Jungle Cruise is an adventure-filled, rollicking thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton. Lily travels from London, England to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank’s questionable services to guide her downriver on La Quila—his ramshackle-but-charming boat. Lily is determined to uncover an ancient tree with unparalleled healing abilities—possessing the power to change the future of medicine. Thrust on this epic quest together, the unlikely duo encounters innumerable dangers and supernatural forces, all lurking in the deceptive beauty of the lush rainforest. But as the secrets of the lost tree unfold, the stakes reach even higher for Lily and Frank and their fate—and mankind’s—hangs in the balance.”
I have to admit that I love that Disney is giving options, because personally, I am not ready to return to theaters.
Are you going to watch Jungle Cruise? Will you be watching it in theaters or at home?
