We thought that Idris Elba putting us to sleep in the Calm App was the height of glory and that we’d never see another actor join the ranks of “Hot Guys Whose Voices Sooth Me.” But here comes Chris Hemsworth with his soothing voice, ready to guide me to a better life in the form of Centr, the wellness app that he runs with his wife Elsa Pataky and a host of other team members. And honestly, “How dare he?”
Launched back in 2018, the MCU star from the Thor movies launched his own app Centr with the goal “to build a program that takes the guesswork and excuses out of training, eating and living well.” And in honor of World Meditation Day, which is May 21st, Hemsworth is handing over his deep and soothing voice to a new series titled Learn to Meditate.
It’s a 7 days series where you will “build your ability and understanding, with a new style of beginner meditation delivered each day.” And according to Hemsworth’s own site, “We all get stressed, uptight, or overwhelmed, and need help shaking it off,” says Chris. “There are many different ways to relax your body and mind – starting with just your breath.”
Crafted by meditation coaches and narrated by Chris, each meditation is geared towards improving your mental health and getting you one step closer to another form of wellness. The meditation themes you’ll cover across the first week are: stress release, sleep visualization, breathing, focus, motivation, body scan, and peak performance.
