This is not a drill people. Reportedly, there is a Britney Spears musical on the way this fall called Once Upon A One More Time.That is the most Britney Spears title if I have ever heard of one and I’m not even mad.
Her album, ‘Baby One More Time’ was the first cassette I ever owned. That shit was replayed so many times along with the iconic music video.
Once Upon A One More Time is about beloved classic fairytale princesses gather for their fortnightly book club, longing for a new story. When a rogue fairy godmother drops The Feminine Mystique into their corseted laps, it spurs a royal revelation: there is more to life than bird-made dresses and true love’s kiss! Powered by the chart-topping anthems of the Princess of Pop herself, Britney Spears—including “Oops!… I Did It Again,” “Lucky,” “Stronger,” and “Toxic”—Once Upon A One More Time sends audiences on a heartwarming and uproarious musical adventure about smashing the glass slipper and reclaiming your own happily ever after.
Casting has not yet been announced, but the show will be directed and choreographed by Keone & Mari Madrid. The story was written was Jon Hartmere and is set to debut this fall in Washington D.C and run from November 29 to January 2, 2022. You can check out more at the Shakespeare Theatre Company.
