Welcome back Nancy Drew fans! We are one episode away from the season finale, and “The Judgement of the Perilous Captive” sets us up for everything that’s to come, however it also makes ME question everything so far this season. Crazy right?
So much went down, last night and there were so many intersecting storylines that finally came to a head. Ryan and Nancy being the father daughter duo, I never knew I needed. Bess and Carson bonding further over Nancy being in trouble, yet again. Nick doing what’s right and continuing to stand up for himself in Horseshoe Bay, which I LOVED!
And of course Everett Hudson continuing to be the sleezeball, 80’s style criminal that we all know needs to be killed or put in jail for life. Let’s get right to it guys, because there is a lot to digest on this week’s Nancy Drew, “The Judgement of the Perilous Captive.”
Kill Everett Hudson

Everett Hudson is a douche bag, a scum bag, a cold blooded killer and needs to rot in jail, or be taken out. I really don’t care how he meets his end and pays for all of his crimes, I just don’t want to deal with him next season! Ryan should inherit all of his parent’s money, well Ryan and Nancy and they should live happily ever after.
Nancy and Gil have taken Everett back to Lucy Sable’s old house to try and pump him for information, Gil has ulterior motives however. Those damn Bobbsies! Nancy, never trust a big butt and a smile! Ha! Gil is basically only helping Nancy because he knows Everett will kill his dad if Nancy can’t prove Everett killed Celia and the crew of The Bonnie Scott.
Nancy is fired up, because she actually liked Celia and knows Everett will put her on his hit list next if she can’t get him put behind bars quickly. I am worried for her, because she is acting out of fear and hate instead of her usual logic, in other words she’s acting exactly like a Hudson.
When Ryan finds out his mom has been murdered, he is livid and suspects his father is to blame. Det. Tamura tells Ryan that Everett has gone missing and was last seen the night before leaving the party in a limo, headed towards the West part of town. Somehow, Carson alerts Ryan that Nancy is missing as well and he puts two and two together.
Ryan crashes in on the Everett, Nancy, Gil party and cole cocks his daddy in the face! Take that Everett! You deserved way more, but I will take what I can get. I am really liking Ryan this season! He has come through for Nancy several times when she’s in a clutch. Keep Ryan around writers, he’s like the fun dad. Everett swears he didn’t kill Celia and is furthermore states that he and Celia had a prenup that stated if she was ever murdered, Everett gets none of her family’s inheritance.
Everett tries to explain to Nancy and Ryan that is wasn’t him, but neither is buying it. While Ryan and Nancy sidebar to discuss their next steps, Gil and Everett make a deal. If Gil helps Everett escape he will get Gils dad out of prison and give them hundreds of thousands of dollars to live on. Because Gil is an idiot, he makes a deal with the devil and betrays Nancy. Fuck you Gil! Asshole move.
There’s Something Wrong With Nancy

Hi Hannah! Thank you for making an appearance and helping out our girl Nancy. Hannah is reliable like Giles and after Bess and Carson come to her for help after seeing Nancy’s creepy death photo, she figures out Nancy is being possessed or by a demon parasite. Ruh Ro! It’s always something in this town!
The supernatural is never far away in Horseshoe Bay and Hannah knows this first hand, as does Nancy who is unaware that a demonic parasite has attached itself to her. It’s a total bummer, because just as Hannah and the Drew crew are putting the pieces together, Nancy finds out she might have played an accidental role is Celia’s death. Celia was murdered 22 hours before Nancy found her, and we all know Nancy had been talking to Celia’s ghost the entire time.
So who killed Celia? Turns out it was “The Road Back.” Which quite honestly I had forgotten about, but whatever. Nancy once saved Ace from this group and Celia helped her, but why they would kill Celia I still can’t figure out. Nancy is obviously saddened by this new and feels solely responsible for Celia’s death. Okay maybe don’t kill Everett just yet, he can still serve a purpose and take out the men who killed Celia.
Carson is waiting for Nancy after the Everett kidnapping fiasco, they hug and he tries to comfort her but to no avail. Nancy tells Carson that she just feels so numb and he stares back at her not telling her the truth just yet. Instead he takes Nancy back to the claw for some food and a demonic intervention of sorts. When Nancy walks into the claw the Scooby gang take a surprise photo of her with Nick’s camera and it reveals what Hannah has been telling them all along. That damn Wraith from the woods attached itself to Nancy when she saved Gil.
Suddenly it all makes sense now, Nancy’s recklessness, her coldness towards people, it was a very cool reveal, kudos writers. The best line of the entire episode was Nancy turning to the group and saying “Parasites kill their victims how long to I have to live?” SHIT!
Random Thoughts from “The Judgement of the Perilous Captive”:
- Hannah tells George that she only has about 10 years to live since her soul is merged with Odette’s
- Nick bought the abandoned gas station across from his loft after the owner of Jake’s Diner said he couldn’t support Nicks mission of building a teen center next door to him
- Jake is a jerk
- Hannah will have to save Nancy and George
- Everett murdered his only brother, Josiah
- Everett is still a BIG problem
- Det. Tamura could be a useful ally
