Welcome back Nancy Drew fans! This week, we get to see Nancy square off with her wicked grandfather, and come to terms with who she really is, a Hudson or a Drew. Bess tries a new dating app, because we all know she can’t pine over the dead ghost possessing George’s body. Meanwhile, Ace, and Amanda team up to help Ryan and Nick take down Everett Hudson, which does not end well for anyone involved. There was a major plot twist that I didn’t see coming but absolutely LOVED and Nick is back to being his smug self, and always thinking his way is the right way. Settle down kids, and lets dive into Nancy Drew “The Purloined Keys.”
Everett Hudson Has No Soul

Everett Hudson is a bad dude. He is so bad that he would stop at nothing to keep his fortune and freedom. Nancy knows that her grandfather most likely drove her birth mother to suicide and she knows if she crosses him, that she could die by his hands as well. But, you all know our girl Nancy, she is all or nothing, and she never backs down. So why everyone in her core friend group is surprised by her willingness to go undercover and bring Everett down is beyond me. Nick thinks Nancy has lost her mind and can’t be trusted, because after all she is a Hudson and blood is thicker than water. Ryan wants to trust Nancy, but when you have Nick and some reporter whispering in your ear, I guess you believe them and not your daughter. What ever Ryan, Carson wins this round of who’s the best dad.
We were not even 10 minutes into “The Purloined Keys” and Everett already had someone killed, and made it look like a suicide, because that’s his M.O. I fucking hate this guy! Nancy wants to help but keeps getting cocked blocked by Nick and his new bff Ryan. Nick, you do not solve murder mysteries, that’s Nancy’s department so stay in your lane. Ugh, I liked Nick better last week when he had a best friend and kissed a boy. I’ll admit, I knew Ryan had a thing for the reporter, who in earlier episodes, was sent to spy on him for his mother. But now they are in love, I guess or seem to be, and she is helping him take down Everett. I don’t know how much longer she will be around though, because Everette doesn’t like his son to be happy and every woman he’s ever loved has mysteriously died. Good Luck Girl!
Nancy Puts On Her Battle Dress

The entirety of “The Purloined Keys” Nancy had to match wits and prove herself loyal to people that are supposed to trust her completely, so I felt her pain when she was alone and trying to win a war on her own. Nancy promised her grandmother, Celia that she would attend a party in honor of Everett’s release from prison. Remember last week when Tom Swift gifted Nancy with that AMAZING dress to wear to the party, and Tom left a cryptic note inside that said “Wear your armor” or something like that. I think, that dress is bullet proof and knife proof and death proof!
Tom is a genius and he also knows her grandfather is ruthless, so I’m thinking he sent Nancy that dress to protect her unbeknownst to Nancy. I’m glad someone is looking out for her because Nick and Ryan keep trying to withhold information from her, which is why I was not mad when their dumb asses got busted breaking into a Hudson family crypt. Dummies! If you two would have let Nancy help you, then Ryan’s girlfriend would not have a hit on her life, and Ryan would not be worried he’s about to die at the hands of his father too.
I always thought the Bobbsey twins were going to be filler characters, but they are both turning out to be useful. Amanda received some intel from her father who is in jail, about what exactly Everett is looking for. Apparently there is some tape of him murdering someone “Black Crown Tape” and no matter how many times he’s destroyed it, it keeps coming back, because it’s haunted, also anyone that has came in contact with it, has died. I know right? Of course Everett Hudson is being haunted by a secret death tape, of course he is. Nancy is worried and she should be, because she found her grandmothers corpse, hanging from the ceiling of the boathouse! WTF! I was not expecting that, but I did know Celia was acting weird the entire episode and I just thought Everett drugged her, but nope he killed her!
Nancy had been talking to her ghost all day, and Celia doesn’t know she’s dead, until Nancy shows her the body. Poor Nancy, just when she was bonding with Celia, Everett goes and kills her. Shit Nancy, you better run girl! You are most likely next on his death list. Nancy doesn’t back down though, and confronts Everett in his limo, he is so smug too and just shrugs about killing his wife. Asshole! Nancy tasers his ass and tells Gil to drive off while she places a burlap bag over his head. Fuck yeah! And Just when I think Nancy has won, freaking Carson Drew, whips out the picture he took of Nancy before she left for the party and guys, Nancy looks dead, like a corpse dead. Uh Oh! Until next week!
Nancy Drew airs on Wednesdays at 9/8c on the CW.
