Lucifer Season 5B is now a reality! As you already have the review, we’re going to sit here to choose 5 scenes that you can’t miss from each episode, either because they are essential for the development of the episode or because they’re the ones we like the most because, after all, this is our list. It’s the turn of Lucifer 5×11 “Resting Devil Face”.
NOBODY TOUCHES DADDY

Don’t you love the way Lucifer goes crazy when someone dares to harm his father? I do. It’s because of things like this that it’s clear that Lucifer loves him with all his heart. That is, Lucifer has many problems with his father, sometimes it seems that he despises him but when someone has the intention of hurting him, he doesn’t hesitate to get in the way.
Lucifer doesn’t hesitate to save him. Because he loves his father. In spite of everything, in spite of the problems, of pretending that he despises him … he loves his father. And he always wanted, always needed his dad to love him back. In fact, Lucifer tried not to love him, tried to hate him, to despise him … but he never succeeded and in moments like these, is when he shows his true feelings for his father.
I also find the continuation of this scene interesting. When God sees Lucifer’s face he is shocked but, more than that, saddened. As if he had discovered something very sad … because it is what Lucifer himself has done. Lucifer chose that scarred face, full of ugliness, the face of a monster, because it’s a reflection of how he sees himself.
His resting devil face is a vivid reflection of Lucifer’s self-loathing. And God feels horrible knowing that his son thinks that about himself, that he looks like that. Again, a reflection of the real Lucifer problem … that we are solving in Lucifer Season 5B.
“I’M ANGRY WITH LUCIFER”

Finally! We finally know Trixie’s feelings. After we didn’t see anything of her in 5A, here we have her. Let’s remember that Lucifer went to “Florida” and didn’t say goodbye to her, and that hurt Trixie. In Lucifer she had found a friend, a confidant, a … father. And he left, abandoned her.
Now, he has returned and the next thing she knows is that her mother is sad. It’s like Trixie loves Lucifer so much and he hasn’t bothered to go to her or talk to her. And it is true. So she is angry and the last straw is that Chloe is suffering because of him.
I’m rooting for Trixie and that’s my girl! She did that kick well and Lucifer deserved it. For so many things …
Her scene with God is just perfect. Unexpected but so necessary. Because we see the catharsis of two characters that you don’t expect to see together. Trixie finally understands her feelings for Lucifer, for everything that is happening.
As for God, he understands that much of Lucifer’s attitudes and insecurities stem from him. He was not a good father … he doesn’t know how to be a good one but he is starting to struggle to find out. It is not easy but he tries and it is what his children need, especially Lucifer. It’s time to get busy being a parent, not being God.
I love this scene. I love it so much. Of course it was going to be on our 5 scenes you can’t miss list.
DECKERSTAR AND THEIR *ALMOST* KISS

The wall between Deckerstar that we talked about in episode 10, is definitely there in Lucifer 5×11 “Resting Devil Face”. There is … something strange between them. It’s as if everything is as before but, at the same time, nothing is.
The words Lucifer didn’t say and the ones he did say keep dancing between them and even though Chloe tries to forget them and repeat that Lucifer just needs time … well, it’s not that easy because it hurts like hell. And Lucifer wants to tell her so many things … but he feels that he can’t. They are both walking on tiptoe here. As if their relationship were an eggshells, too fragile and can be broken at any moment if you squeeze and force it too much.
That is the reason why kissing, which used to feel as natural as breathing, well, now they don’t know how to do it because there is something that stops them. Chloe’s first instinct is to back off. As much as her head wants it, her body is speaking for itself. It hurts that Lucifer is not on the same page with her and that everything is so complicated.
She is not having a good time. Her gaze has faded and her sadness is something you can feel across the screen. That slows her down. And Lucifer realizes and wants to fix it but … he doesn’t know how.
He doesn’t know how to keep everything from falling apart.
“I WILL ALWAYS BE HERE FOR YOU”

Trixie is well aware that her mother is sad and she is just … she wants to be there for her, protect her. But it is Chloe who must protect Trixie from everything that is happening. Trixie is her daughter and keeping her feelings about Lucifer to herself is hurting Trixie as well, and Chloe is not going to allow that.
She doesn’t know what will happen to Lucifer, she doesn’t know where the fact that he doesn’t think he can love and the fact that she needs something more than that will leave them, but if they really want to get somewhere, if they want to know if they have a future, she must tell him and thus, at least, not live in limbo without knowing if she must get over Lucifer or can continue fighting for them.
And most of all, make it clear to Trixie that she will be there for her. Forever. And if there is something that can harm her, if there is something that affects her … she will always choose her, Chloe will always think of her before because that’s being a mother.
This scene is tremendously precious and necessary. It had to be on our 5 scenes you can’t miss list. Chloe here realizes that Trixie is no longer a child and that everything that is happening in her life also affects her and she must protect Trixie from it.
And she also realizes that keeping all her feelings in is not healthy, she cannot continue like this and if she really wants to move forward with Lucifer, in one way or another, she needs to be honest with him and work from there. Not being honest is killing her, destroying her from the inside out and leaving her empty … and that has an effect not only on her but also on those she loves.
It’s hard for Chloe to face the possibility that her relationship with Lucifer may end right after it starts. She almost can’t breathe thinking that she might have to go on without him … but she knows it’s the right thing to do and the healthiest thing to do. And you have to be very brave to do it.
WHO SAID DEMONS CANNOT HAVE SOUL?

Maze continues to struggle with what God told her and his refusal to give her a soul. And it is not easy for her. She still wants to convince herself and others that her first instinct is always evil … but it’s not. And God knows it. It only remains for her to realize it.
She chose not to kill God when she had the chance and that means something. But it doesn’t matter, right? She still has no soul … or does she? Impossible things are happening, why must she be different? Who said that demons cannot have a soul? Who says she doesn’t already have it? And here Maze finds out. And she tears up.
She fought so hard for that soul … and she always had it. She stopped being the evil demon that enjoyed torture a long time ago. She always had a soul. But that also means that that part that Maze feels is missing is not something that anyone can give her, but something that she must find.
And these are the 5 scenes that you can’t miss from Lucifer 5×11 “Resting Devil Face.” Stay tuned for the 5 scenes you can’t miss from episode 12 that we will publish tomorrow.
