Now, we’re going to make a list of all our reactions and tell you the exact minute to which we reacted. In addition, we’re going to tell you some behind-the-scenes secrets. We can freak out together now!
You can probably guess that yes, there will be spoilers for Lucifer season 5B here, if you have not seen the full episodes yet, read at your own risk.
Here we go!
Episode 9 – “Family Dinner”
Minute: 50:58 (fountain scene) until the end of the episode.
Fun fact: As you know, Lizzie and I disagree about this scene. She understood it and I didn’t. I understood the concept but I don’t think the episode offered us an emotional connection to really understand why Lucifer did this.
Episode 10 – “Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam”
Minute: 51:50 (“I dreamed a dream” Lucifer and God heartbreaking duo) until the end of the episode.
Fun fact: We had to hold back because this scene always makes us both cry and we wanted to say so many things that we couldn’t.
Episode 11 – “Resting Devil Face”
Minute: 39:10 – 42:00 (Enlightening conversation between Trixie and God, while Maze is listening.)
Fun fact: We had so many scenes to choose from! It was a bit difficult to do it … at first, we thought about doing a Deckerstar scene but we decided on this one because we thought it was really important and Trixie deserved to have her moment.
Episode 12 – “Daniel Espinoza: Naked and Afraid”
Minute: 54:20 (Conversation between Lucifer and Dan.)
Fun fact: In this episode we were clear about which scene to react to because it was the only one worth doing it.
Episode 13 – “A Little Harmless Stalking”
Minute: 33:06 — 38:50 (Mazeve supremacy! They team up together.)
Fun fact: In this episode it was so difficult to choose! In fact, we had planned to react to the scene between Lucifer and Linda, the one where Linda says those harsh things to Lucifer. In the end, we settled on Mazeve because hey, Mazeve! But also because we knew that if we didn’t react to them in this one we would not have another chance (episode 16 was reserved for another scene.)
Episode 14 – “Nothing Lasts Forever”
Minute: 45:00 — 52:30 (God, Charlotte, Amenadiel and Lucifer beautiful scene.)
Fun fact: We were clear about reacting to the scene between God, Amenadiel, Lucifer and Charlotte but it was really hard to choose in this one too because there were so many wonderful scenes!
Episode 15 – “Is This Really How It’s Going to End?!”
Minute: 56:00 — 1:00:28 (Part of Dan’s funeral, Lucifer and Maze making the killers pay and Lucifer and Linda’s heartbreaking talk.)
Fun fact: There were many scenes to react to in this episode but we wanted it to be heartbreaking and satisfying … and not to give too many clues of what was happening because you had to go blind to this episode. You know why …
And what Lizzie and I were debating was whether we need that heartbreak, those bad moments that Lucifer wants to eliminate to appreciate the bad ones. Although we understand that at that time he thinks like that and says that. We also said that we didn’t understand why they focused so much on the flag and were all ceremonial about it.
Episode 16 – “A Chance at a Happy Ending”
Minute: 45:40 — 50:00 (Lucifer finds Chloe in heaven, chooses her, finally realizes, tells her “I love you” … she comes back and kicks Michael’s ass.)
Fun fact: We had to do this scene. No doubt about this, we were clear, even with that Mazeve scene in the middle. The only thing was that we had to shorten the scene, we wanted to do from the moment she “dies” but it would have been too long, so we shortened it.
And our discussion is about how I find watching Chloe kick Michael’s ass even more satisfying than seeing Maze and Lucifer do the same to Dan’s killers in the previous episode. Lizzie just disagreed with me because, well, she loves doing it. But we all know who is right here. Wink, wink.
