Michael Myers is back in the continuation of the 2018 Halloween that changed everything for the timeline we know and love as horror buffs in Halloween Kills. This sequel is set mere minutes after the ending of its predecessor. As Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode is escaping with her family, firefighter trucks are seen racing to Strode’s house. She yells, “Let it burn!” and gets more desperate for them to let the house burn as they pass by.
Little do these firefighters know that A) this will be the last night of their lives and that B) Michael is mad. It has to be the reason why he’s going after his victims so hard. Because he wasn’t holding back if you crossed his path. In fact, he was tearing people apart in a way that made it seem like he enjoyed causing panic and strife. Dropping some teeth to freak out an unsuspecting victim hiding in the toilets is one thing. This is in a league of its own.
With Michael rampaging, Laurie prepares herself for what’s to come. She will kill him, once and for all. And her conviction, and the anger raging inside those left behind by Michael’s victims, stirs up the town to join Jamie in her battle. But Jamie’s warning about Michael transcending the more he kills, to God only knows what, is cause for alarm. She’s faced him multiple times before. But what kind of monster will he be after this latest rampage?
Either way, we hope he finally bites the bullet and leaves the people of Haddonfield alone.
The synopsis is as follows:
Minutes after Laurie Strode (Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie’s basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor.
But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie’s trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes. As Laurie fights her pain and prepares to defend herself against him, she inspires all of Haddonfield to rise up against their unstoppable monster.
The Strode women join a group of other survivors of Michael’s first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all.
Evil dies tonight.
