Halsey fans are you ready for this? H4 is coming. I repeat. H4 is coming. Halsey has announced her fourth album is on the way.
I’m going to be honest, when Halsey released her third album Manic, I really thought she wasn’t going to be putting anything out for awhile. During the promo for it, she spoke in a way that made me think it might be her last one.
I should know by now to never underestimate Halsey and what she can, and will do. I mean, the year 2020 gave everyone, especially musicians tons of free time to just write and record songs so I shouldn’t have been surprised that Halsey would do the same. I also shouldn’t have been surprised she’d make us work to figure out what was coming.

Back in May a mysterious Instagram account with the letters iichliwp popped up. Halsey fans including myself began trying to decipher what it meant. If you’re familiar with Halsey, you know she released a poetry book titled I Would Leave Me If I Could. We all assumed maybe the account had something to do with that but, we weren’t really sure.
When the account first launched, there were about six photos with no captions. Only one picture actually had writing. It simply said “All of this is temporary.” Then there was a link in the pages bio where you flipped a coin and it revealed some letters. What they meant, I had no idea and I still don’t.

After that, the Instagram went quiet. Then in June, postings picked up again. Still the clues had us scratching our heads because like the previous ones, they were just pictures with no caption. The last photo that was released on June 27, was one that just had some numbers and finally a caption that read “Tomorrow.”

As you can see this photo is also a head scratcher. Now, I have to give props to the Halsey fans who work overtime to figure out what Halsey is up to because I simply don’t have the skills.
Several fans determined that these numbers represented coordinates and they were pulling out maps and all that to find the location, which they did. Turns out, Halsey was dropping a billboard at the location. Fans showed up and hung out to wait and see what was coming. Boy, was it worth the wait.
The billboard finally revealed the mystery of the letters iichliwp. Turns out it’s the title for Halsey’s fourth album “If I Can’t Have Love I Want Power”. And get this, it’s being produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross from the famous rock band Nine Inch Nails. Those two are amazing producers and I love the vibes of their music. I cannot wait to see what they and Halsey have cooked up.
We got a teeny tiny taste of one of her songs in a 10 second clip showcasing the unveiling of the billboard. In the clip, she sings the lyrics “All of this is temporary.” Remember I mentioned that earlier? So yeah, that caption was song lyrics.
Halsey is forever dropping clues on us. I also have to mention that the layout of the billboard makes me think it could be letters for the tracks on the album. They are spaced so far apart with that red split down the middle. I just can’t imagine there not being another clue hiding in there.

Although the clip was only 10 seconds, I am already loving what I’m hearing. I have no idea what to expect with this fourth album and no release date has been announced just yet. All I know is I’m definitely looking forward to whatever Halsey gives us.
