It’s a day to celebrate, Winx Nation! Yesterday, TVLine made us happy at the end of the day by revealing a long-awaited piece of news for fans of Fate: The Winx Saga: Flora will be joining the second season of the show! This character joins two new ones who arrive to reinforce the cast and the storylines. You want to know more?
Here we go!
Flora will be played by Paulina Chavez, a Latina known for her leading lady role in Netflix´s show The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia. Added to her, are names like Éanna Hardwicke in the role of Sebastian and Brandon Grace as Gray. The three of them join the regular cast of season 1 to bring us new stories, complications, drama and adventures.
Personally, I´m very happy with these casting news, especially with Paulina Chavez as Flora, not only because the entire fandom expected to see Flora at some point in Fate: The Winx Saga, but because they respected her Latinx origin. One of the most accurate criticisms of Fate: The Winx Saga, was its lack of diversity that, somehow, stained the project and didn´t let it shine in all its splendor.
The criticisms have been heard, they are aware that they made mistakes and have done everything possible to solve them. And I’m glad they did.
On the other hand, I also like that they give opportunities to young and talented actors and actresses who are starting in the industry.
So these are a win – win for me.
I´m looking forward to enjoying season 2 and discussing it with all of you. Season 2 is currently shooting, so it’s still too early to talk about dates, but goodness, please make it as soon as possible!
