Terror knocks on our door! Chapelwaite is almost here and we can’t wait for you to see this show, based on Stephen King’s story. We sat down to chat with its executive producers Jason Filardi, Peter Filardi and Donald De Line about the adapting process and their conversations with the genius. Ready?
Here we go!
Chapelwaite is a show based on the short story Jerusalem’s Lot by Stephen King and, as in any adaptation (Outlander, I’m looking at you,) in the show there are some changes, new elements and scenes from the book that are not included. This selection process is not easy because you have to get rid of a piece of a story that you feel is yours so, as you can see, we asked Jason Filardi, Peter Filardi and Donald De Line how that process was for them.
Also, Stephen King AKA the genius while not directly involved with production, read the format, the pilot and episode treatments. Each step of the way, he gave his blessing. With this in mind, Jason Filardi, Peter Filardi and Donald De Line told us about the meetings they had with Stephen King about the approach they were going to give to the story and the changes they introduced.
This is a great combo. These mean are funny, talkative and you can see the complicity and friendship that exists between them. In our interview you can see that we couldn’t hold back laughing but I assure you that it was even more fun than what you saw.
They are three friends who embarked on a great adventure together, making this story not only come to life but also become part of them and that united them in a unique and special way, it made them feel like family and it shows in each second of our conversation with them.
This interview is one of those with which you end up with a hard-to-forget smile on your face.
Stephen King books are not for all palates. Either you love them or you hate them, although he’s indisputably a genius of classic horror that will never go out of style, but somehow Jason Filardi, Peter Filardi and Donald De Line have managed to give Chapelwaite part of their essence and even those who don’t revere the Stephen King genre should give the show a chance … to enjoy it to the fullest.
And here ends our interview with Jason Filardi, Peter Filardi and Donald De Line. Tomorrow we will publish our exclusive interview with Emily Hampshire, who we know is very familiar for fans of Schitt’s Creek and 12 Monkeys. Stay tuned!
