Some stories resonate with you because they are deeply personal in a way that surprises you and makes you feel less alone in the world. Anxiety is a great liar and does its best to make you feel isolated, out of control, and wildly without support. Anxiety is also the thing that links Mardy Fish to the triumph of finding support and hope that is at the root of his episode of Netflix’s Untold.
As someone with anxiety, who lives in the lies and has managed to find ways around them, I felt compelled to talk with Mardy Fish about his anxiety, what drew him to the documentary, and what advice he might have for those who are struggling with The Great Liar in their lives.
So check out the interview below, and know that if you’re struggling with anxiety, you’re not alone.
As Mardy says, if you’re struggling, be sure to reach out for help. Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable, talk with a doctor, lean on family or friends, and most of all, do what’s going to silence that lying voice in your head.
Some resources for anxiety are here, here, and here.
Mardy’s episode of Untold, ‘Breaking Point,’ is streaming now on Netflix.
