We are back, Lucifans! Lucifer 6×02 “Buckets of Baggage” returns to that humor that only this series knows how to do, a new couple arises and mysteries are being solved … or they’re getting more complicated, depending on how you look at it. Time to review! Ready?
Here we go!
The first thing we have to discuss from Lucifer 6×02 “Buckets of Baggage” is the first scene. You don’t know how excited it makes us to see Lucifer change, to witness how he truly feels worthy of loving Chloe and truly believes in her love for him, character growth indeed.
On the other hand, in this scene we see that Deckerstar have had some really good sex… I wouldn’t have minded seeing some of this, just saying (wink, wink.) And I can’t forget the little joke about the entrance to Lucifer’s apartment. This is like a little private joke between the fandom and the writers.
Absolutely everyone enters Lucifer’s penthouse as if it were their own home, without any difficulty. After so many years of this detail, I love that the writers have spoken with us here to say: “yes, we know that the security in Lucifer’s penthouse fails, but the guy put an elevator as the door,” they have a point here, it must be recognized. It’s how you can tell that this is the final season … even these small details fill us with nostalgia …

What does Lucifer do when he has a dilemma that he can’t solve? Exactly, he goes to see Linda and Lucifer 6×02 “Buckets of Baggage” is no exception. Lucifer hopes that Linda will solve his life, as always and she gives him advice that Lucifer interprets as he wants, as always. What Linda does is not paid well enough, holy patience to have with Lucifer.
All of this leads to someone unexpected receiving “help” from Lucifer: Carol. Poor Carol, who has to put up with a lot thanks to Lucifer, he already deserves to be part of this family just for this. He passed the test.
This storyline brings really funny scenes between the two, especially when it causes several misunderstandings between Carol and Ella. We laughed a lot at these scenes and we want to see Lucifer and Carol together again, please and thank you.
We also want to hug Ella and tell her that everything is going to be fine. The way she remembers Pete when things with Carol start to get somewhere… she can’t trust anyone, not anymore. She always trusted others, she trusted Pete, but that turned out to be a disaster and now she needs to double check everything, to make sure.
She is insecure. Her instincts, her trusting nature are essential to who she is, but that failed her… so she no longer knows where she is standing. She is afraid that her instinct will fail her again, that she will suffer again …
That is why she recruits Chloe and later Lucifer to find out everything about Carol, even very private things that he had a right to tell her in his own time. She is so scared … but she must realize that not all men are the same and that she must not change what makes her innately trust people and see the best in them because that is part of what makes her so special.

Taking risks, taking a leap of faith again causes vertigo and it’s risky but Ella cannot live like this. This is the lesson she learns in Lucifer 6×02 “Buckets of Baggage.” Ella notices when she is talking to the murderer, that there is a clear parallel here. We really like the way that they have made Ella learn and move forward emotionally and how she closes her eyes and jumps, takes that leap of faith, asks Carol for forgiveness and agrees to go out with him.
Let it be what ir has to be, but at least she will be living for real. That’s our Ella!
We have to say that we loved how well represented the LGTBIQ community is in Lucifer 6×02 “Buckets of Baggage.” Lucifer was always a fairly inclusive show, but this episode really showcases that in the case of the week, and pushes a message of accepting ourselves and showing our true selves to the world and whoever doesn’t like it, he or she needs to go to hell.
As always, this case reverberates in Lucifer’s emotional conflict. He is also afraid that everything is a facade, because he doesn’t really feel that he can be God, he just doesn’t see himself… doing it, even he must. He’s afraid of failing at this, failing Chloe, failing himself and everyone who fought for him.
Lucifer is fighting against that, against what he wants to do… and what he feels he should do. And the time to decide is running out, especially if even a human like Ella who does not yet know the truth has noticed the lack of God …
While all this is going on, Chloe and Maze are having a very particular fight. We love seeing them fighting on equal terms, it’s something we always imagined and didn’t think we could see, but here it is. However, this fight is not normal, Chloe’s need to release adrenaline, to be distracted, is motivated by the fact that something is not right with her.
Chloe continues to struggle with her retirement from the police, at least until she and Lucifer go to heaven, she wants everything to be as before, she also struggles with what it will mean once Lucifer becomes God and … she is also fighting that small part of her that needs to keep that celestial piece in her hands.
With it she feels invulnerable, invincible. Her head clears, and she needs that feeling, that control over herself, she needs it … because right now Chloe feels like everything is out of control in her life. She feels vulnerable, but with that celestial piece in her hand, all her worries and fears dissapear.

In the previous episode, Chloe told Lucifer that after carrying a weapon for so many years, she needed to feel armed in some way and that is why she took the key, but we think the truth is that she needs the control and mental clarity that it gives her. Invulnerability, both physical and psychological.
All of this makes Chloe in no rush to go to heaven either. Earth is her home, where her family is and she doesn’t mind spending more time with them. We have to confess that we died with the last Deckerstar scene and the faith that Chloe has in Lucifer, the way she knows he will solve whatever problem he has. We love them.
Once again, in Lucifer 6×02 “Buckets of Baggage” we visit Dan in hell. Although this time he receives an unexpected visit … the new “queen” of hell is ready to do anything to end Lucifer and Dan seems like the ideal partner. We loved seeing Dan saying out loud what he regrets about trying to kill Lucifer, he may be frustrated with him now but Lucifer is still his friend… and he’s not willing to make the same mistakes again.
Just … it seems that there is a way back, so why didn’t Lucifer say anything to Dan? Why didn’t he help Dan if it was so easy? It seems that Dan’s interests are again allying with the opposite side and we understand, we have these same questions … although it is clear that this angel with the cool wings wants to manipulate Dan … she has a point here. However, Dan has grown a lot, so we don’t think he’s going against Lucifer, no matter what he says he’s going to do to get out of there.
In the midst of all this, frogs begin to fall from the sky … does it have to do with this disturbance in hell or is it because God is not up there?
PS: Tom Ellis and his voice is all that is right in the world.
