I Know What You Did Last Summer‘s “Snak ‘n Stuff” put into focus the reality that the parents on this show know nothing while the children are pretending to know it all as a counterbalance to their guardians. And it honestly led to a whole hot mess where someone is possibly dying, Alison is further spiraling into her pretend life as her sister, and where the dad is hiding some MAJOR secrets that have so far destroyed both of his children.
But first up, parents. Where are they? What are they doing? And why the hell don’t they know what is going on with their kids? When we were that age we wouldn’t have gotten away with 95% of what these teens are doing. And being taken in and questioned about a murder would’ve been a quick way to get us shipped off to the mainland to avoid the crazy and “protect” us.
Honestly, besides guilt-tripping their kids and leaving them on the side of roads, what else do they do? Oh yeah, they make eyes at each other. Which, we appreciate not everything being about the teens, but we’re getting kind of tired of the adults getting screentime and not doing anything with it. Secret marriage? Not interested. Shaming your daughter for having an eating disorder? Not interested. Revealing the dad is prob a bottom to his not girlfriend because their toys were found? Not interested.

Next up, the teens or young adults of I Know What You Did Last Summer. They are compensating so hard and are running around in circles without doing anything. Seriously, what have they accomplished besides luring us in with their drama, angst, and scares? (The show actually made us jump once or twice, admittedly.) We love some messy drama but we’re hoping for more as this show progresses, particularly when it comes to the secrets these people are all holding.
Oh, and more Alison and Margot because that is getting more complicated by the second but infinitely more interesting. It’s especially true because we know the feelings brewing inside of Alison are complicated and she’s finding herself pulled towards Margot the more time they spend together. But she’s also hiding a major secret from Margot that could destroy anything they have and then some. So you know it’s going to be drama, drama, drama.
Because at the heart of I Know What You Did Last Summer, secrets are what destroy. Keeping the secret of Lennon’s death, destroyed their friendships. Keeping the secret that Alison is pretending to be Lennon, is currently destroying Alison. And keeping whatever secret the dad is holding went and destroyed both of his daughters Alison and Lennon, the latter that we still don’t care about because the OnlyFans crossed a line that can never be uncrossed. #ISaidWhatISaid

But even then, even after all that when it comes to I Know What You Did Last Summer, “Snak ‘n Stuff” made us want to watch more, even if just to figure out what secret the dad was holding onto and what further destruction Lennon is going to leave in her wake. Because there’s no doubt in my mind that her garbage is just around the corner, waiting to jump at Alison and remind her of who she was and who she’s transforming into.
