We love a limited series. There’s just always so much television to watch and a limited series means we have less of a commitment and we can find the time to do so many things.
But it also feels like these days limited series are better. Yes, I said what I said. Limited Series seem to concentrate on one part of the story and you feel like you get to know more about the characters and the stories, because side stories are not as prevalent.
One of the limited series we’ve been looking forward to is Inventing Anna.
The story of Anna Delvey has long fascinated the media and hey, it comes from the mind of Shonda Rhimes, who also wrote the series. It’s the first series she’s written since Scandal.
In Inventing Anna, “a journalist with a lot to prove investigates the case of Anna Delvey, the Instagram-legendary German heiress who stole the hearts of New York’s social scene – and stole their money as well. But is Anna New York’s biggest con woman, or is she simply the new portrait of the American dream? Anna and the reporter form a dark, funny, love-hate bond as Anna awaits trial and our reporter fights the clock to answer the biggest question in NYC: who is Anna Delvey?”
The series was inspired by New York Magazine article “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People” by Jessica Pressler. Jessica is a producer on the limited series.
The series stars Anna Chlumsky (Vivian), Julia Garner (Anna Delvey), Arian Moayed (Todd), Katie Lowes (Rachel), Alexis Floyd (Neff), Anders Holm (Jack), Anna Deavere Smith (Maud), Jeff Perry (Lou), Terry Kinney (Barry), Laverne Cox (Kacy).
Inventing Anna will premiere on Netflix on February 11, 2022.
