The day is here! Alex Rider 2×01 “Surf” begins the season dealing with the consequences of the season finale and, while new mysteries and secrets come into play, only the family can save Alex. Ready?
Here we go!
In Alex Rider 2×01 “Surf” Alex tries to deal with what happened in Point Blanc and also with his past because Alex not only has to wrap his head about everything that he had to live in that crazy boarding school but also about the mystery of who his uncle was and the story of the man who murdered him.
Alex knows that his stories are somehow linked, he saved his life for a reason, only that Alex still doesn’t understand how and he is fighting against that, so much so that he sometimes feels that he cannot even breathe.
Fortunately, Alex has his family as the mainstay of his new life. Jack and Tom are always there, and even if Alex tries not to worry them by hiding that he is not as good as he says, they know it. Because the family always knows. No words are necessary, they know what is happening and make Alex feel that they are there, right next to him, so that he clings to them until he can no longer. Everything he needs. Always.
But the tranquility doesn’t last long in Alex Rider 2×01 “Surf.” Alex barely has time to lick his wounds before something strange happens on the family camping trip. At first, it’s innocent and normal for any teenager his age. Guy meets a beautiful girl, they both flirt and think the other is interesting and want to unravel all the mysteries of the other.
But what starts as normal and super cute takes a dark turn soon. Her father seems to be someone brilliant … but with the odd secret. His house ends up on fire and Alex barely has time to react. Alex knows something is happening and he has no choice but to stop being Alex Rider the teenager and go back to being Alex Rider the spy. MI6 and espionage, the secrets, come back into play and part of Alex is horrified and another part of him was waiting for it. What will happen from now on?
But Alex is not the only one fighting in Alex Rider 2×01 “Surf.” Jack got a new job and is starting a new chapter in her life that is going to make us enjoy ourselves a lot throughout the season.
On the other hand, in Alex Rider 2×01 “Surf,” Tom is trying to rebuild himself from the ashes after everything he went through in season 1 and all without losing his smile. Although his strategy is different from Alex’s. While Alex is talking about it, more or less, Tom isn’t, it’s like nothing happened.
But that’s not exactly healthy. Tom must also unburden himself about all that he had to live because what happened, inevitably, changed him. And although Tom doesn’t talk about it, like Alex, he also leans on his family to forget, to feel at home, and feel that he is safe. The question is, how long will it work?
PS: Tom and Alex’s friendship is the fucking best!
