Do we understand releasing footage ahead of a movie’s release? Of course. It gets people excited for what is to come and draws their attention to things that they may have missed. Like for instance, Moonfall.
Would we have paid all of the attention to it? Probably not. Not because of its cast. It has a great one. The movie stars Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson, John Bradley, Michael Peña, Charlie Plummer, Kelly Yu, Eme Ikwuakor, Carolina Bartczak, and Donald Sutherland.
The reason we would have looked past it? Well because movies about the earth being in a collision course with the moon may freak us out and we’re chicken shits.
Lionsgate has released the first five minutes of the movie and we’re definitely interested.
In the movie, “a mysterious force knocks the Moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it. With mere weeks before impact and the world on the brink of annihilation, NASA executive and former astronaut Jo Fowler (Academy Award® winner Halle Berry) is convinced she has the key to saving us all – but only one astronaut from her past, Brian Harper (Patrick Wilson, “Midway”) and a conspiracy theorist K.C. Houseman (John Bradley, “Game of Thrones”) believes her. These unlikely heroes will mount an impossible last-ditch mission into space, leaving behind everyone they love, only to find out that our Moon is not what we think it is.”
I can admire the fact that people would make last ditch efforts and go to space, but I wouldn’t be one of them.
Moonfall hits theaters February 4, 2022.
