‘Legacies’ 4×14 Preview: “The Only Way Out Is Through”

With the help of Vardemus (played by Alexis Denisof), the Super Squad tests their abilities against gods on Legacies 4×14, “The Only Way Out Is Through.” It will probably help them in the long run that Ben is on their side because he has first-hand experience with the gods and their wrath.

As with all their adventures, there’s the chance of a deadly hitch in the Super Squad’s plan. According to the promo video, it sounds like they’re not off to a great start because the odds are against them in the simulation alone. But, the Super Squad is a group of supernatural underdogs.

Who doesn’t love rooting for the underdogs?!

Also, on the positive side, “The Only Way Out Is Through” is the most united Hope, and the Super Squad have been in a while. A common adversary can bring people together, after all! All of which could pay off nicely if and when Hope gets her humanity back.

Also, it looks like at least Ethan is back from the bakery. There’s still no word on Finch, unfortunately.

It will be interesting to see how “The Only Way Out Is Through” sets up the Mikaelsons’ return in next week’s Legacies. If Vardemus’s device sticks around, there’s a chance that Freya, Kol, Marcel, and Rebekah are a side effect of it — instead of actually being in Mystic Falls without the interference of magic.

My fingers are still crossed for all of them to be real and present. But, let’s be honest; it’ll be an emotional rollercoaster of a reunion no matter how they get there.
