‘Legacies’ 4×13 Photos: “Was This the Monster You Saw?”

Hope leans into her power as the only Tribrid when she returns to Mystic Falls in Legacies 4×13, “Was This the Monster You Saw?” The Originals always showcased the potential of Tribrid Hope as the most powerful supernatural being, so her confidence is rational when referring to the TVD Universe’s canon.

But that can always change — or can it? Plus, going off the photos, it looks like she’ll crash Ric’s “Welcome Back” party in the process — which is all too fitting considering how Hope left Mystic Falls.

Meanwhile, Cleo grows more concerned about the recent changes in her powers since Aurora stole them from her. A lot of Cleo’s identity — not all — is attached to her status as Muse and the inspiration that come with such a title. Maybe “Was This the Monster You Saw” will allow Legacies to go more in-depth with her character.

This episode will do just that for Ben, who’s still a newcomer to Legacies and the Salvatore School in general. Hope comes back talking about how the Super Squad needs her in the fight against the gods, so it’s logical for “Was This the Monster You Saw” to delve deeper into that mythology through Ben.

Also, it means that Legacies gets to follow Jed as he finds his feelings for Ben deepening, which sounds so incredibly sweet.
