One thing Halsey fans can say is that she is an artist who is always up front about everything. Especially their health. We all know that Halsey has faced a lot of health struggles over the years, and we love that she feels comfortable enough to share these struggles with us because they know some of their fans are also going through similar battles. It’s also a reminder to us all that these artists are human just like us and they have battles to face that we can’t even begin to imagine.
In one week, Halsey’s ‘Love And Power’ Tour is set to kick off in West Palm Beach Florida and the artist has been giving us some glimpses into what’s to come. Recently Halsey shared a post on their Instagram which read “creepy crawlies 🩸”. In the post there were six images. Some gave us tour vibes while there were also some sprinkled in of Halsey completing an allergy test and wearing a heart monitor. Obviously, it was a cause for concern. Fans immediately responded with some confusion and were asking the singer if she was okay.
We didn’t get an answer right away but then Halsey posted a TikTok which revealed that she is basically allergic to everything including coffee. Yes, we said coffee. Getting an allergy test done already sucks enough, but finding out you can no longer have coffee is rough. Half of us don’t turn into humans until we’ve had our caffeine. After the TikTok went viral and fans once again voiced concerns, Halsey took to their Instagram and posted a series of stories to update us on their current health status.
In the Instagram stories, Halsey revealed that since giving birth to their first child, she has been dealing with a lot of health problems and has been in and out of the hospital for surgeries and medical tests. This led to them being diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS).
That is A LOT to be dealing with, but Halsey has managed to stay strong through it all. Like we said, we can never truly know what anyone is dealing with. Halsey is still going through testing to figure out exactly what the root cause is of all of their issues. As she mentioned in the Instagram stories, they have always dealt with autoimmune issues. It’s just a matter of nailing down this current problem.
Halsey then went on to reassure their fans that they are on a treatment plan and despite all of these issues, they are working hard to bring us all the best tour this summer. She expressed that she doesn’t want fans to worry and that preparing for tour has been taking their mind off of all that they are currently dealing with. While Halsey does realize their limitations and knows that they can’t tour the same way as in the past, she is excited to be seeing all of our faces again.
According to Halsey the ‘Love And Power’ Tour will be a way for them to sort of get out all the frustration they are feeling. “A lot of it is going to kind of be delving into this weird body horror about everything I’ve been experiencing, feeling like my body is rebelling against me. I have a lot of angst, and I have a lot of energy. I have a lot of confusion that I want to get out on that stage. Hopefully I’ve built a show that really reflects that and can be a cathartic place for you to release some tension if you are feeling or have ever felt similarly.”
How amazing is Halsey? They are channeling all that they are going through and putting it right into their art. Not only that but, they are dealing with all of this stuff and still worrying about their fans. Words can’t even express how much we love them and even though they told us all not to worry about them, that doesn’t mean we won’t. If in fact Halsey can tour, that’s awesome and we look forward to seeing them but, we want it to be done safely for them.
