Rebecca Hall is coming for our collective throats in the trailer for the IFC Films thriller Resurrection. This film, which premiered at Sundance, tells the story of a woman named Margaret who is living her best life and thriving with her daughter. She’s got the job. She’s got her family. And she’s got peace. That seemingly comes crashing down around her when she spots someone from her past in the teaser trailer.
In a crowded room, she begins to have a panic attack, her face awash with fear. This man, played by Tim Roth, he’s a terror that she thought she put behind her in Resurrection. And what she does do? She follows David in what looks like a spiral of epic proportions caused by the pain she hasn’t confronted. And who can blame her? She’s curious, cautious, and scared about what this might mean for the life she’s created.
Her daughter worries, rightfully so, but this woman continues to look for this man, despite what it does to her mental health. And it all narrows down into a confrontation when Margaret meets up with David in a restaurant. Immediately you can tell from his words that he doesn’t think he did anything truly wrong to Margaret in this Andrew Semans film. And in one trailer, we are sold on Resurrection.
