When it comes to FBI: International, we can say one thing for certain – it definitely is a Wolf Entertainment show. And what do we mean by that? Well, it’s that it picks up and drops story lines all the time leaving you knowing that you better remember every single detail of everything you watched, because the story line may not pick up the next episode, it may pick up ten episodes from now.
And though we understand that is the way that life is, nothing is linear, for a television show, it’s fucking annoying. However, that being said, we still are trash for the show and most of Dick Wolf’s shows.
The season finale of FBI: International wasn’t bad, but it was confusing. Why? Because somethings felt so out of character and then at the same time we’re like okay, we get it.
But that’s the thing – it’s the first season, so we’re still learning all these characters and so we’re going to have to give them time. Because all of the growth and figuring out of who they are, doesn’t necessarily happen in the first season.
Right? Just tell us we’re right, because otherwise, we’ll go off in a tailspin and that’s just never good (or is it?).

MAMA’S ASKS ARE STARTING TO MAKE SENSE
We know that nothing ever stays the same in life. It’s the way things are. But as the season of FBI: International has progressed on this season, the one person that we’ve really started to like and admire and feel like she’s an essential part of the team is Jaeger. We also know that people need to grow and be promoted and all of that, so we’re not hating on that.
Jaeger being promoted and having an office job? Doesn’t feel right. But it also makes us hate her promotion, because she’s full on bad ass and an important part of the team.
However, from the opening scene, we know that she’s the person that we’re going to have to say goodbye to. And we’re pretty much pissed over it. Well at least we are at the beginning of the episode, but shit happens, so we should find patience (should, doesn’t mean we’re gonna).

You may remember that Forrester’s Mama asked for him to get her The Hutchinson file. Well. that dude was on an airplane that got blown up by a missile and so that is the case. Of course, for Forrester, this sets him off on a path that maybe he wasn’t prepared for and yet maybe he was.
See, we can all be pissed at our parents but the reality is that even if we’re pissed, there is love somewhere (most of the time, we think). It’s been a bit since his Mom reached out to him, and now, with the plane going down his Mom all of the sudden reaches out?
Look, more than anything, we all want to believe in a mothers love, but when it comes to Angela Cassidy, this writer doesn’t believe shit when it comes to her. She is only focused on Paul Novikoff, so you can’t convince me that she’s not using her son.
Her want to suddenly come back into her sons life and her sending him after Novikoff, it’s personal. It’s about herself, and you can’t convince me otherwise.
GOING ROGUE

So, who is Novikoff? He’s some dude high up in the Kremlin and he was supposed to be on the plane that was blown up. It seems that he was the target because he was considering defecting.
He had disappeared after he didn’t make the flight. Everyone is trying to get the team to focus on Hutchinson, because he was the one that was killed. But Forrester really wasn’t hearing this. Especially when his team was ordered to stay at their office and do any investigating from there.
Forrester is a great agent and if we’re going to be blunt, I didn’t think for a second that he would EVER take his Mom’s side. But when he’s ordered to stay put and his Mom tells him that he needs to get to Novikoff, he takes his Moms side. He risks his entire team, which is the confusing to me, because Forrester protects them at all costs.
So why would he put himself in a position where he has to lie. That doesn’t makes sense to us. Is there an understanding that it’s because it’s his Mom? Sure. There would be a part of me that would want to believe that, but well… he’s made it clear that he’s mostly worried for his Mom.
There is no doubt that Forrester wants answers about who is Mom is. Is she risking deep cover in order to make sure that she prevents wars? Is she a traitor? Why would she do all of this to her son?
THE NEW JAEGER?
Forrester has help in Croatia, where he’s gone to get Novikoff. After all, that’s where his Mom said that he was. She’s told Novikoff that she is in deep cover and can help him defect.

While so many people keep asking Scott if his mind is in the right place, where his head is at, where he is at, we’re not really sure. He seems so out of character and nothing like what you would expect him to be.
But he’s got the help of another bad ass Europol agent in Croatia, and well, we’re glad that Jaeger got him help. It’s also the perfect way to set up someone taking over Jaegers place. They are being hunted by assassins and she like has no fucks to give. It feels like she’s standing out in plains site, screaming for them to come and get her.
Forrester is following all directions, checking in with his team, and Kellett is basically calling him out. She loves him a lot, it’s obvious, and it’s why she’s willing to take whatever comes for him. The team has grown and are close and that’s a beautiful thing. BUT, that being said, this just feels like a selfish fucking thing for Forrester to do.
But why he does it, he admits… because it’s his Mom. And when he has Novikoff and is getting him out, he’s again faced with a choice – risk everything and go see his Mom again or take Novikoff to the plane. Forrester does his job, but you can tell that doing his job breaks him.
FORGET ME
Scott has risked everything for his Mom and everyone keeps telling him that she’s doing everything that she is for him. But we’ll call bullshit on that.
Because she’s effectively deserted her son. So, ya no.
Novikoff is safe and he’s being taken to the states, after agreeing to work with the US government. Scott has returned to Bucharest to meet up with the team. And they all act like nothings wrong. They’re just supportive of each other and that’s a beautiful thing.

BUT, Scott, his whole life has been one thing after another that has centered around his Mom. When she tells them that they can’t talk anymore, when she makes the choice that she’s leaving his life again – no one can say that their heart didn’t break to Forrester.
Being as one of Novikoff’s would be assassins is still free and trying to hunt them down, maybe she’s doing it for her son, but again, there is not trust in our hearts or heads for her.
She told her son to forget her. Like are we supposed to believe that she’s redeemable after doing that? Cause we don’t.
We’ll have to wait to see when the second season of FBI: International returns this fall. For now, we’ll be crying that Jaeger’s last case with them has come.
