Red, White & Royal Blue has found its romantic leads. Taylor Zakhar Perez (The Kissing Booth 2 & 3) and Nicholas Galitzine (Cinderella) will play Alex Claremont-Diaz and Prince Henry. They will play rivals who cause an international upset when their feud becomes public. What follows is a campaign to bring them closer together that goes from being fake to something more.
Based on the Casey McQuiston bestselling novel of the same name, it was and still remains a best seller that has stolen the hearts of its readers. It was named “Best Book of the Year” by Vogue, NPR, and Vanity Fair. And Goodreads awarded it “Best Debut” and “Best Romance of 2019.” And from what we can tell, McQuiston is excited for what’s to come.
“It has been a thrill to hand this story over to Berlanti/Schechter, Amazon, and our fearless leader Matthew López and watch them make so many smart, bold, thoughtful choices to bring it to life,” said McQuiston, according to Deadline. “This casting is no exception. I absolutely can’t wait to see Taylor and Nicholas on-screen as Alex and Henry.”
Of course, the internet reacted positively, as expected, on the first day of Pride.
Others were here for Galitzine playing the Prince after his previous roles.
Some were ready for quotes from the book to come to life on screen.
Others didn’t even know there was a Red, White & Royal Blue adaptation.
Now, there were some that were disappointed and were hoping for a different casting or wanted actual gay actors cast in as these characters.
But it still remains that most reactions were positive and that we’re excited as well for what’s to come.
Red, White & Royal Blue is set to be released on Prime Video.
