It’s a truth universally acknowledged that we will always be ready for another Pride and Prejudice adaptation! Netflix released the trailer for its upcoming adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel, starring Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden, and yes, we’re already wondering whether this new version will make us fall for Darcy all over again! Ready?
Here we go!
Netflix’s Pride and Prejudice Trailer Has Us Rooting for Elizabeth and Darcy
The trailer opens the door to the Bennet family’s world, introducing us to the sisters, their parents, and the social expectations shaping their lives. Mrs. Bennet is already making her priorities clear as she calls for Mr. Bennet, who seems perfectly content to keep his distance from the commotion around him. Meanwhile, Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Kitty, and Lydia bring life to Longbourn.
It’s a lovely introduction to the family. The Bennets are funny, frustrating, and frequently at odds with one another. We get glimpses of the sisters spending time together, the countryside surrounding their home, and the social gatherings that will bring the characters together. There’s a sense of warmth, but we also know what lies beneath the surface. For the Bennet sisters, marriage is not simply about finding someone they love. It’s also tied to their future security and the limited options available to women in their position.
But Elizabeth has her own opinions, expectations, and judgments, and she’s perfectly willing to challenge someone who believes he knows better like…Darcy! He, meanwhile, has to confront the assumptions he makes about her and the world around him. In the trailer we can see glimpses of their encounters and the attraction that develops between them. They really remind us of Anthony and Kate from Bridgerton, if we’re being honest. And we love it!
Darcy’s reserve seems like arrogance, while Elizabeth’s confidence make her reluctant to reconsider her first impressions. They both have to change, and neither gets to take the easy way out. The fun comes from watching them clash, misunderstand each other, and slowly discover what they were missing.
Pride and Prejudice premieres December 3, 2026 only on Netflix.
