It’s time to start the party of the summer with the Wildcats with the first trailer for HSMTMTS Season 3. Thankfully, the two-minute trailer packs details for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series fans to obsess over until the season premieres on Disney+ next month.
If you’re looking for all the details we knew about Season 3 prior to the trailer, we’ve got the latest here.
The trailer reveals that Camp Shallow Lake is a two-week, phone-free experience that some Wildcats are eager to participate in because of a secret celebrity guest — Corbin Bleu, and his docu-series crew. So, it’s perfect that the Wildcats sing High School Musical 2‘s “What Time Is It” on the way to Camp Shallow Lake and Bleu.

The HSM franchise isn’t the only Disney Channel Original Movie soundtrack represented in the HSMTMTS trailer. Camp Rock fans will notice the HSMTMTS cast putting their twist on “Start the Party.” On top of that, HSMTMTS will tap into the Disney catalog with Frozen.
Surprise! Camp Shallow Lake will be the first camp to put on a production of Frozen. So, start fan-casting the roles now!
Although, the trailer gives plenty of hints about who could be playing which roles — on and off the stage. EJ is taking the director role this time, so at least we know he won’t be typecast as the villain again. On the other hand, Gina is going for the show’s lead!
A quick shot in the trailer suggests that Gina and Kourtney could be Camp Shallow Lake’s Elsa and Anna. Meanwhile, Ricky’s attire posits he could be auditioning for Kristoff.
It also teases more of HSMTMTS‘s great friendships like Ashlyn, Gina, and Kourtney. Plus, it looks like Ricky and Carlos will be in the same cabin, too, promising more of their friendship. The trailer doesn’t hold back on the romance either, teasing Gina and EJ’s “perfect summer together.” Portwell fans, are you ready?

Rina fans, don’t count your ship out yet because the trailer teases some Ricky and Gina fans to look forward to in Season 3.
It’s curious that after EJ tells Gina nothing can ruin their summer together, the camera cuts to EJ finding Ricky and Gina, presumably running through lines. It could be a coincidence to create tension in the trailer, or it could foreshadow what’s to come on HSMTMTS.
As for Nini, it appears she’ll be staying in Utah, seeking advice from Miss Jenn and Jesse Tyler Ferguson‘s character Marvin. TV Line reports Marvin is an old friend of the Salazar-Roberts family. HSMTMTS‘s trailer teases something big for Nini’s future, and we can’t wait to see what that entails. Also, your eyes do not deceive you: JoJo Siwa will guest star on the series as Madison, “a former summer camper.”
So, what do you say, Wildcats? Are you ready to pack your bags for the summer that changes everything?
