What is it about action movies and television shows that draws us in? We’re not really sure, because equally, we also are drawn in by romance and comedy movies and television shows. But if you combine the two, you know that we’re all in.
Two of our favorites – Nick Zano and Shelley Henning – have been cast in Netflix’s hourlong action comedy series, Obliterated, from Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald. Action comedy? Yes please.
The show tells the story of an elite special forces team who thwarts a deadly threat to Las Vegas. After their celebratory party, filled with booze, drugs and sex, the team discovers that a bomb they deactivated was a fake. The now intoxicated team has to fight through their impairments, overcome their personal issues, find the real bomb, and save the world.
Sounds like fun.
Zano will play Chad McKnight, who is and elite SEAL and the head of the special forces team. He’s a wild guy who is known to party. He’s wild on and off the job and saving the world means that he’s gotta tow the line between keeping good times going and saving the world.
Henning’s character is in the CIA and really plays by the book. However, that all will change when she, along with the special forces team she’s overseeing have to go back to work while impaired and recovering from a wild night.
If this show is executed correctly, we’re completely down for this and will watch. If it’s like Space Force, we’re hard passing. We shall see…
