Cybus Industries is the group we all know and love for its upgrades. They created EarPods before Airpods were even big and have come up with innovative ways to make your life better. Take working out for example; why would you need to prep for a beach body if your body always looks the same? It could be glittering in the shiny metal casing of a Cyberman and you’ll never have to worry about flab again. That’s what the company made famous by Doctor Who wants you to think. They’re making their first comeback since 2006 in the most subtle way possible, Twitter.

Initially, they advertised themselves as the company that can help you stop your “woke, weak emotions.” They received endorsements from Donald Trump, and Jeff Bezos, and partnered with Elon Magpie to create an electric vehicle deal. They’ve proven to be a very conservative company, right-wing leaning; an American company full of propaganda. Each new tweet comes with an ad explaining the many perks you could have if you are upgraded.
Here are just a few reasons why upgrading might be the best choice:
If you upgrade, you never have to shower.
No need for masks or vaccines.
You’ll never need a doctor (or Doctor?)
Since then, a story has been unfolding. They were making profits and partnering with a company called International Electromatics and now that company runs the Cybus Industries site. Recently, Elon Magpie was to close a deal to purchase Cybus Industries, but hours before he could, Magpie fell from the 63rd floor of Cybus headquarters. The story continues to develop. On August 11th, the Cybus Industries Twitter account appeared hacked, with the message “If you can read this, they found me,” along with a short video* and the only sound is the boom of a Cyberman’s footstep.

COULD CYBUS INDUSTRIES APPEAR IN ‘DOCTOR WHO’?

Of course, we all know this is fictional. With the BBC gearing up for the Doctor Who centenary special, it’s a great marketing ploy that could pay off well. There are signs that a UNIT account has emerged as well. The Cybermen do appear in the centenary trailer, but it’s not the same type of Cybermen associated with Cybus Industries. Cybus first emerged in a Tenth Doctor story where The Doctor, Rose, and Mickey go to a parallel world with Cybermen. This could be marketing the temporary return of David Tennant as the Doctor. There were no Cybermen spotted in any photos taken from the set, but there could be shoots behind the scenes that we don’t know about. Or this could be fanmade, but the production value is way too high to be a solo project. It has to be real, right?
That said, we’re very excited about the return of Doctor Who here at Fangirlish. With Ncuti Gatwa set to become the Fourteenth Doctor, there are new stories and monsters we have yet to meet. We’re ready to meet them all.
