If you think we lost it over the Geeked Week teaser, wait until you see how much Netflix’s Wednesday trailer has wrecked us. There’s so much to fangirl over here. And yet, we’re trying to keep our calm because Wednesday Addams herself would absolutely dump some piranhas in the pool with us if she saw how we reacted to seeing these clips. Which, for the record: 1) totally would be worth it, and 2) …yep. She does that to some bland AF dudebro bullies in the trailer.
So, aside from basically everything, what are we looking forward to from Netflix’s Wednesday? Well, we can certainly confirm the series will have our girl’s patented darkness. And, if the Wednesday trailer is any indication — which we’re sure it is! — Jenna Ortega absolutely nails it.
We’re not going to recap everything in the video because that wouldn’t exactly be fun for you, dear readers. But here’s our favorite exchange from the full two minutes:
“Want to take a stab at being social?”
“I do like stabbing.”
So. Yeah…There’s plenty to love? But that basically told us everything we need to know about how the essence is simply there. As you’ll see, Wednesday’s parents, Morticia and Gomez Addams, also have that perfect relationship vibe. That’s another important win for those of us who know these characters and are invested.

But there’s also plenty of new stuff. For example: Our other big takeaway from this new Wednesday trailer? Two words: Gwendoline. Christie. We knew she was going to be in the Netflix series but hadn’t really seen anything with her character…Finally, that has changed.
Murder! Mayhem! Thing! Dancing! Fencing! The family hearse! It’s all here. And, in case you need a reminder about what to expect from the plot — aside from, “like, omg. Wednesday Addams” — here’s the series synopsis from Netflix’s press release:
“The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy, where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.”
So, all we want to know now is: Can it be spooky Wednesday season already?
