We jump straight into where we left off from episode eight of Chesapeake Shores, with Evan meeting his dad.
Hearing about how Evan’s parents met and finding out that Evan’s dad actually never knew about him, was a twist. We understand why Evan has held resentment towards his father all these years and why he still is hesitant to have a conversation with him now. But honestly, we hope he has a sit down with his dad in the next episode because its really not all his dad’s fault. We also just want Evan to be happy because the situation seems to be putting a strain on his and Abby’s relationship. If anyone can help him through though it is Abby as she kind of had to do it with her mum.
Even though we’re still super mad at Mandrake for just surprising Evan with his dad,and it seems so is Evan. My anger kind of lessened as the episode went on as we got to hear Mandrake’s story and how much he just wants the best for Evan. But I still 100% supported Evan speaking his mind to Mandrake on the matter because honestly give a guy a little warning.
A storyline that I didn’t think I would enjoy as much as I did is Caitlyn’s storyline with Sloane. Firstly, it reminded me of so many toxic relationships that I had in school. I never died my hair blue or fought in the parking lot but I’ve had my handful of bad friends. What I liked was the way the show portrayed childhood friendships because no matter who you are, when you’re in school, all you want to do is be cool and fit in. By showing toxic friendships and acknowledging the impact of them, it added another great storyline to this season. Also Mick saying he would’ve clocked her too just proves Caitlyn is an O’Brien.
With only one episode left, Chesapeake Shores can literally go anywhere. We still have a lot of storylines to wrap up and very little time. There’s the situation with David’s dad even though Connor has decided to take the case behind Margaret’s back. We have Luke being shot and his recovery and Kevin and Sarah’s baby.
But in episode nine, it kind of left the impression that the show is putting teasers out for spin-off shows that could potentially happen. Such as an Evan spin-off because there is still so much to know about our favourite billionaire. And with him just discovering his dad, honestly there is so much to know. Other potential spin-offs could involve Jess, who’s looking to open a vineyard, but also because we have the whole situation with David’s dad.
But honestly, Chesapeake Shores, you’ve got a lot to deliver in the final episode, before we even get onto what’s next, and it starts by giving us a glimpse Kevin and Sarah’s baby!
