‘Stargirl’ 3×06 Preview: “Frenemies – Chapter Six: The Betrayal”

It’s finally time for the team-up of the century! Pat and Barbara go on a recon mission of their own to learn more about the Mahkents in Stargirl 3×06, “Frenemies – Chapter Six: The Betrayal.” Even if they don’t walk away with intel that proves the Mahkents are a threat, it looks like Pat and Barbara will get a basket of fresh produce.

Courtney and Cameron are spending much more time together, which shouldn’t be alarming. Barbara told Pat that this behavior is normal for a teenager with a crush. But, in the promo video for “Frenemies – Chapter Six: The Betrayal,” they have a history about which everyone’s opinions become harsher than in the previous episode.

Courtney’s frustration with the people who call themselves her friends is likely reaching a breaking point as she tries her best to help Cameron break good. Rick and Yolanda, specifically, can’t understand Courtney’s commitment to training Cameron regardless of her feelings for the boy. Of course, it doesn’t help that Cindy adds fuel to the fire.

Cindy’s attempt to further align herself with the Justice Society of America is likely preemptive or reactive depending on if and when Yolanda reveals that she knows Cindy has The Gambler’s laptop. Yolanda may take that development in the murder mystery to Sylvester, who is (once again) stepping in for Courtney as the team’s leader.

Considering his brutal and unfair perception of Cindy is based on Sylvester’s opinions on Dragon King, it will be interesting to see how Sylvester takes the news. As the interim leader of the JSA during a(nother) tumultuous time, Sylvester may need to be the team’s glue as Courtney presumably continues to pull away from the group.
