This episode of 9-1-1 started off a little slow. Not that it was boring, but it seemed less thrilling than usual, with just a string of robberies going on. But we should have known that there would be a twist. There always is in this show. So, let’s review 9-1-1 6×05 “Home Invasion”:
Day Time Break-Ins

The first home invasion turned out to be a false alarm. Kind of. There was an intruder in this woman’s house, but it wasn’t human. It was a raccoon. If we’re being honest, we probably would have screamed, too.
The robberies pick up, and they are all during the day which seems weird. Athena is amazing as usual. She does some detective work and figures out that a first responder must be involved. When Maddie goes through the 9-1-1 calls, it looks like she was the one that accessed the calls. Well, we all know that Maddie didn’t have anything to do with the break-ins. But someone else took her password: Noah.
We’re upset that Noah turned out to be the bad guy and was behind these break-ins. We thought he was a good guy, and we were excited about him learning from Maddie. But good job writers for not making it obvious before this episode that he wasn’t as good as he seemed.
Hoover

We loved seeing Hoover again this week in “Home Invasion.” It’s obvious that none of these characters (well, except Bobby) are dog people. Dog people know you can’t close the door because the dog will whine and scratch the door. Dogs also tear things up when they’re young or if they’re in a new place and are scared. We thought maybe Hoover would work out with Eddie and Chris, but unfortunately, it did not happen.
Luckily, Bobby did find Hoover the perfect home: with the woman from the first home invasion. The raccoon invasion. The woman hates to be alone, so we think she and Hoover will be very happy together.
Other Thoughts:
- Magda was a nightmare. Who wants someone at their house all the time watching them and creeping them out? Chim and Maddie probably need to rethink having any kind of help. Or at least be more selective next time.
- We loved that Buck and Eddie showed up to help the woman after her brother was injured.
- That ending! Karen’s going to be okay, right? And will this scare make Hen realize she should stay a paramedic? Don’t get us wrong, we’re happy that she passed her test, but we were tearing up at the thought of her leaving the 118.
