The Heartstopper fam seems to be getting bigger!
According to Deadline, Thibault De Montalembert will be joining the cast as Nick’s father Stephane. His most recent work includes All Quiet on the Western Front and My Mother’s Wedding. In the comic, Stéphane Nelson divorced Nick’s mother Sarah before moving to France. That left the weight of parenting to Sarah Nelson, who is played by the talented Olivia Colman. She is also set to return for season 2 of Heartstopper.
He will be joined by Ash Self and Bel Priestley. They are up-and-comers with no credits as far as IMDb is to tell. But from what we do know, Self will be playing Felix. Which, with our limited knowledge of Heartstopper since we haven’t read the comic because spoilers, isn’t a comic book character. The same thing goes for Priestley, who will be playing Naomi. But we’re of the mind that if Alice Oseman is involved, it’s all good and we trust in that vision.
Returning for season 2 of Heartstopper is Chetna Pandya as Coach Singh, Fisayo Akinade as Mr. Ajayi, and Alan Turkington as Mr. Lange. They join the core cast of season 2, which consists of Joe Locke as Charlie, Kit Connor as Nick, William Gao as Tao, Yasmin Finney as Elle, and Tobie Donovan as Isaac.
We’re especially proud of Connor, who is starting a thriving movie career with A Cuban Girl’s Guide to Tea and Tomorrow, despite all the haters and fake fans. And we’re sooooo proud of Locke for landing a role in Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Both of these roles are going to change the lives of these young men and we can’t wait to see them conquer Hollywood and beyond.
Heartstopper will be returning for season 2 on Netflix.
