We definitely don’t know what happens behind closed doors and we’re not sure we want to. Then again, when it comes to royalty, nothing has captivated us so much since Princess Diana, than the story of Harry and Meghan.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex telling their own story, on their terms and in their own way, is one of the most important things that these two can do. So much has been said about their story – from others, from rumors, and some from themselves. The two have every right to take control over their own story.
Now, I know that we all thought that this documentary may have been postponed, we really don’t know when it is coming out. What we do know (or can assume) is that Netflix saw that The Prince and Princess of Wales were going to be in the USA and decided to release a teaser trailer without a premiere date. And while some could and would blame Meghan and Harry, I don’t for a second that they had any control over that.
Netflix describes the documentary as, “an unprecedented and in-depth documentary series, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex share the other side of their high-profile love story. Across six episodes, the series explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution. While some have said that they chose to include members of the royal family in the trailer to make people pay attention, what we have to recognize is that just because they aren’t working royals, doesn’t mean that they aren’t royals. They are just that.
But one can’t blame Harry for wanting to protect his family. After everything that happened with his mother, Princess Diana, he has every reason to believe that something like that could happen again. The paparazzi are ruthless and with what the couple divulged in their Oprah interview, I am personally glad that they got out.
For themselves.
For their kids.
For their future.
The hate that people display to Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan is disgusting. We don’t know what is happening behind closed doors, but what we do know is that these are human beings who just want to live a safe and happy life.
They should be allowed to do so.
