If there’s one franchise I have come to trust, it’s the Fast & Furious one. They’ve brought back Letty. They’ve brought back Han. And now there are rumors that Gal Gadot‘s Gisele might be coming back for Fast X?! As as someone who loves the whole shit show this franchise has become (that includes Dom going on about family) I think it’s the right idea to move the franchise in a different direction and give Gisele and Han the happy ending that they deserve.
And other long-time fans agree with me on this, expressing how much they’re into this idea.
And personally, the best thing about this (besides a possible reunion and Gisele and Han getting a happy ending) is that they’re going to pull some flashback out of nowhere where Mr. Nobody helped Gisele disappear (in the most ridiculous way possible) in exchange for working for him. I don’t know why she wouldn’t run back into Han’s arms. But Fast X will absolutely try to explain why she stayed away. Hell, they might even make it so that Gisele stayed away because she thought Han was dead. After all, the rest of the crew didn’t even know he was alive.
There’s even chatter from some fans about them wanting a spin-off with Gisele and Han. Honestly, I’m down. It could expand on the world of the Fast & Furious into new locations while working on the relationship between two these two. They’ll have to acclimate to the person they are now and the hardships that they have faced to get to this point. And I think they’ll come out stronger for while being continued badass representation for this wild and crazy universe grounded in family.
And for those going, “Oh, this would never happen” or “if she is, she’s probably doing it for a paycheck. First of all, they went to space last time. Not jump randomly floating in the in between where Earth’s atmosphere meets space but it’s still Earth. We’re talking about them going to destroy a satellite with a car. And if they want to find a way to bring back Gisele. We’re down. And second, so what if Gadot is getting a crisp check for this? This is an opportunity to work on something that helped jump start her career. And the way that the Wonder Woman gig dried up, she’s gonna need a job.
Basically, if everything that Fast & Furious has done with their crazy antics for the last couple of movies means it led me to these two reuniting and healing my heart, then so be it. Bring Gisele back and nature will start healing or something like that. Until then, we’re going to go in the Fast & Furious category on AO3 for the first time to see if there are any fanfictions to tide us over until we get the real thing in Fast X.
Fast X is set to premiere in theaters on May 19, 2023.
