The new year could not have started on a better foot! Netflix released the first look at Arsema Thomas as a young Lady Danbury in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. And we love it! Do you want to know more? Keep reading!
The photo shows Lady Danbury facing/talking to someone. Her look and her posture seem apprehensive and tense, so we can deduce that what she is listening to is not pleasant at all. Also, this scene takes place during episode 6, so it could be a key scene for the resolution of the season.
However, according to Deadline, Netflix gives us more information about what this young Lady Danbury that we will meet in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is like. The streaming service describes her like this:
“Under the thumb of a much older husband, Agatha uses Charlotte’s arrival to find her own way into society. With a keen knowledge of the once divided social scene and the intricacies of marriage, Agatha becomes a guiding light for the new Queen, all while finding her own voice and power we’ll soon recognize as Bridgerton’s iconic Lady Danbury.”
The description itself is really interesting since it means that we will see a very different Lady Danbury than the one we know. She will be a woman in a society full of men who will see no way out to raise her own voice and show everyone that she is so much more than the decorative vase that society insists she is.
The new Queen Charlotte will be like a beacon of hope for Lady Danbury since they both need each other and that will unite them. Charlotte needs Lady Danbury’s guidance, knowledge, and advice not only to manage a highly unknown and intriguing society but also to deal with her new married status.
For her part, Lady Danbury needs a friend that she can lean on, a friend she can trust, and a friend with whom she can see that a woman can also be powerful and have her own voice in a society full of men who try to silence them. So we’re already loving this friendship!
We don’t know if 2023 will be our year, but we do know that it will be Bridgerton year because, in addition to Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, we can expect Bridgerton season 3 to hit our screens later this year.
