Chicago P.D. 10×10 “This Job” sees the show return after a month, and it seems like they’re once again going to take advantage of Torres’ backstory. Which, good, but also …we hope he — and Kevin, while we’re at it — start getting more storylines that aren’t just about that. Sure, having diverse characters allows a show to tell different stories, but those characters are not just that, and this show is sometimes guilty of spending too much time on stereotypes.
If we have one wish for 2023, it would be for Chicago P.D. to stop relying on the same beats for every character. Let these people be people …complicated, messy, human, and yes, happy sometimes — let them be friends, and let them love and let us enjoy that, too.

A series of brutal home invasion robberies finds the team paired with Detective Borkowski, an old friend of Ruzek’s, to work the case; things get complicated for Torres when it becomes clear Borkowski has a vastly different policing style.
