With the news that Fantastic 4 is starting to cast, starting with Sue Storm, we’ve got some ideas on who we’d like to see take up the mantle. And sure, some of our picks might be a given, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t check out the rest of our list and give these other amazing actresses a chance. Because yes, some have been fancasts for a while. But there are plenty of actresses who have surprised us once and will do so once again if given the chance.
1. Emily Blunt
This one is a bit obvious. Even before John Krasinski appeared as Reed Richards, people wanted to see Emily Blunt take up the mantle of Sue Storm. Part of it is because they obviously know how to work together, being married and all. But Blunt is an amazing actress in her own right and should be considered because of her own acting skills and ability to transform a role into something oh so memorable.
2. Meagan Tandy
Look, not enough people give enough credit to Meagan Tandy. She knows how to serve a look, kick some major ass, and knows how to play a bonafide hero. She’s proved it in her role as Braeden in Teen Wolf. And she proved that she has the caliber to take on a leading lady role in The CW’s Batwoman as Sophie Moore. She can take on the role of Sue Storm and conquer from day one.
3. Jodie Comer
After her amazing character Villanelle on Killing Eve, Jodie Comer deserves an opportunity to take on something big. That’s especially true after how the BBC drama squandered her character in the ending and left fans reeling. Plus after getting to know Comer as a villain (kind of? Villanelle is complicated.) it would be amazing to see as an epic hero, ready to save the world. Plus, she’s a scene stealer. And she would be one in Fantastic 4.
4. Simone Ashley
Our girl Simone Ashley was absolutely riveting as Kate Sharma in Bridgerton season 2 and we need more of her on our screens. Plus, as much as we love her acting, range, and presence…we can’t stop thinking about Ms. Marvel herself meeting Ashley’s Sue Storm. Kamala would have an absolute fan freakout. And Ashley’s smile at seeing an up-and-coming Ms. Marvel…it would be a moment.
5. Eiza González
We’ll be the first to admit that the blonde hair on Eiza González threw us off at first. But the more we thought about it, and when we saw her photo next to Sue Storm, the more we were convinced that this was her look. Plus she’s Hollywood’s “it girl” lately, popping up in movies like Ambulance and I Care a Lot. Now it’s time to give her that leading role and watch her transform it into something magical.
