Pedro Pascal is everywhere nowadays. He’s in The Last of Us, which wraps up season 1 on Sunday, March 12. He’s traveling the stars with Grogu in The Mandalorian. And he’s even got a gay western coming with Ethan Hawke titled Strange Way of Life. Basically, he’s everywhere and he’s doing the most. Now he’s stepping into new territory, particularly the mobile game Merge Mansion.
In the odd ad, Pascal plays detective Tim Rockford and is smack dab in the middle of an investigation. Dressed in a too-tight button-up, tie, and coat, he tells the viewer, “There are secrets waiting to be unraveled” and how “everything points to grandma.” And honestly, it’s giving us True Detective vibes, where Pascal is the lead investigator after a dangerous foe.
But what is Merge Mansion? From what we can tell, it’s just a puzzle game. And the ad with Pascal acts as a recap of this mobile game universe, which includes Grandma Ursula’s arrest, who was even played by Kathy Bates in another ad. With Pascal joining the universe, there’s no doubt that his fans will check out the game, adding to the 2 million active players it already has.
But honestly, we just care about Pedro Pascal. Because where he goes, and what projects he chooses, you know it’s going to be interesting. But we do expect this detective to adopt a child. He’s a TV dad after all. This is the way.
