One person that we admire is Selena Gomez. The star is always under the gun and she handles it the best that she can, even when it seems as though everyone in the world is always looking at everything that she does.
Twisting everything that she does.
And there is nothing as vicious the court of public opinion.
But Gomez always wants people to be kind and we can appreciate that. Kindness isn’t always easy, but it is always worth it. After all, we never know what a person is going through.
This past week the superstar was on Apple TV+âs Dear⌠and talked about the comments on her body and the reason that she felt the need to lie about the comments that were being made about her body. See, her weight fluctuates a lot due to the medication that she is on for her lupus.
“My weight would constantly fluctuate because I would be on certain medications. And obviously, people just ran with it,” Selena said on the show. “It was like they couldnât wait to find a thing to bring me down. I was being shamed for gaining weight because of my lupus.”
She lied about how comments from social media would effect her, saying, “I was posting these things saying it doesnât bother me because I didnât want it to bother other people who are experiencing the same thing. Getting shamed for what they look like, who they are, who they love. I just think itâs so unfair; I donât think that anybody deserves to feel less than.”
The comments did get to her and she would be in a, “room posting that, crying my eyes out, because nobody deserves to hear those things.”
People need to remember that people have feelings and you don’t know what anyone is going through. This writer is thankful to Selena, as her being so vulnerable has helped me in the past.
