It’s the night that this writer has been waiting for all year! It’s the FBI Global Crossover Event! Yes, we’ve only ever had one, but well, one was all it took.
There is nothing in the world like a crossover event for a Dick Wolf franchise. This year, the FBI’s are throwing us off our game a bit as they switch up their schedule, starting the crossover even with FBI: International. Not that we’re complaining, because well, it is our favorite show out of all the parts of the FBI franchise.
This years crossover event is entitled, Imminent Threat. The three intrepid teams work together when the abduction of an American citizen in Rome reveals an international plot to carry out a mass-casualty terror attack in New York City.
One of the reasons that I get so excited is because of the casts. There isn’t a cast in the FBI Universe that I don’t love. I will admit that one cast member of one of the franchises once made me cry sad tears on a red carpet, but the few times I have met this actress, Keisha Castle-Hughes, she’s only ever made me smile.
The actress plays the role of Hannah Gibson on FBI: Most Wanted. Gibson is a master of all things tech. Because of the fact that this event is a global crossover, we wondered if Gibson would have to go to any country in Europe to work with the fly team, where would it be. She had the most amazing response, “If the internet were a country in Europe, that’s definitely where Hana would end up!”
Castle-Hughes is one of the reasons that I decided to give FBI: Most Wanted a try. I’ve seen and loved her acting in such shows as Game of Thrones, The Almighty Johnsons, and Roadies. The actress also has an amazing voice acting resume.
One of the challenges that I would find difficult about watching FBI: Most Wanted is because of its very dark nature. It’s always been one of the things that has made me wonder how the actors handle that. Castle-Hughes said,”It’s definitely a discipline and a constant practice to keep the material separate from real-life, it can heavy sometimes. Our writers always do a great job of respect in their writing and I thunk we all feel the importance of that too.”
Watching the shows, I think that the writers always try to find a way to be honest, but also make it so that the things that happen during the show don’t traumatize you per say, but rope in the viewer. For me, that is part of the reason that the FBI’s have such a die hard fan base.
When we asked Castle-Hughes why she thinks that there is such a die-hard following, she said, “Wolf Films have always done such an incredible of understanding what their viewers want and like and then make great efforts to deliver exactly tat in the shows they produce.”
This year, FBI: Most Wanted ties up the three part global event up and though we know that means that it’s going to be a wild and intense hour, we love the way that Castle-Hughes describes it more, “This years global crossover event will be action-packed, fearless and exciting. It’s always great to see characters interact, wow don’t usually. And we truly have a blast getting to hang out with each other.”
In the third and final hour of the FBIs global crossover event, the clock ticks as the FBI and FBI: MOST WANTED teams join forces to hunt down the fugitive terrorists as they get closer to carrying out a plot to destroy a major New York City landmark and cause devastating civilian casualties, on the CBS Original series FBI: MOST WANTED.
“THRILLING. ACTION-PACKED. EMOTIONAL.” she continued.
Action-packed scares us. But it also scares us because of the sheer amount of cardio that procedurals have to do. We know that a crossover event is going to include a lot of cardio (more than we’ve done in our lives).
“I’m kinda fortunate that I get to live in the world more than the others, so I get off a lot of the big physical stuff. The rest of the cast are super fit! I’m just a really fast typer,” she said about the physical aspect of the job.
We can’t wait to see the Global Crossover Event tonight, but leaving off with Castle-Hughes we had to ask, what is she proudest about when it comes to working on The FBI Franchise?
“Growing up, I was a huge fan of Law & Order: SVU and Olivia Benson was one of my idols. Well, still is! I’m proud to work in the same universe,” she said.
We’d be proud of that too.
The FBI Global Crossover event airs tonight on CBS.
