This week’s 9-1-1: Lone Star was so much fun. At least for us. Marjan may have felt differently during the dates she went on in “Swipe Left”. And TK and Carlos probably weren’t having much fun after they discovered something very important they disagreed on. But we enjoyed watching this all play out on our screens.

Online Dating is the Worst
Marjan decided to try online dating this week, and she quickly learned that it’s not that great. It’s actually the worst. You meet duds and people that ghost you, it’s stressful… anyway, back to Marjan. She goes on a few dates in “Swipe Left”, all with members of the 126 as chaperones. TK and Carlos go with her to meet the “nerd” they suggested and he seems great… until Marjan mentions she’s not into Harry Potter. That’s a dealbreaker. He says he doesn’t think this can work and gets up and leaves.
Marjan thinks she’s found a winner. However, this guy seemed a little too good to be true with all of the stories he told. And it turns out he was too good to be true as he’s married. We discovered this little fact after his wife bulldozed a motel down looking for him. When the 126 showed up to rescue her (and take her into custody), Marjan sees him. At least she found out what a loser he was before she went on another date with him.
It turns out she may not have needed those dating apps since it seems like her physical therapist likes her. These two do have chemistry, and we think they’re cute. We approve. And we hope next week we find out how the double date went with Paul and his girlfriend.

Kids or No Kids?
TK and Carlos spend time looking for the right person to marry them in “Swipe Left” and find out they have different ideas about their future. TK wants kids, and Carlos doesn’t. We were kind of surprised that Carlos feels this way, but after listening to him talk to his mom, we understand where he’s coming from. He hasn’t had the best or easiest relationship with his dad.
Also, we want to mention that not everyone wants kids. When TK says that Carlos loves kids, Carlos points out that those are other people’s kids. You can like kids and still not want any for yourself. Choosing not to be a parent is a valid choice.
We hope that whatever Carlos and TK decide about kids, they do it together. It’s a big decision to have kids, and it shouldn’t be one that they take lightly.

Other Thoughts:
- We love, love, love that Marjan and the rest of the 118 got revenge on the horrible couple that sued her. Getting stuck in manure is pretty great karma in our opinion, and we love that Marjan got to do a video with them basically telling the world what terrible people they are.
- Some of the people TK and Carlos met with were terrible. None of these people would be our pick to perform their ceremony but especially not the guy who told them they were going to burn in hell. No thank you.
- We love how supportive all of the 118 are of each other. This was definitely evident when they all agreed to help Marjan date. They also helped her with the rules of online dating. Like not messaging a guy too soon. Did we mention we hate online dating? Because we do.
