It’s May, which means that it is The Little Mermaid month and that makes us happy. Happier than most things should, but we’ll take it because we’re out here living our best lives.
Now two of the musical numbers featured in the movie, Part of Your World and Kiss the Girl. If we’re being honest, we could have waited on these, because they are such important parts of the movie that we would have loved to see the first time in the theater. However, we couldn’t resist watching them and here we are.
Watching them on repeat. We’d previously seen Part of Your World, but we’re still putting it below incase you haven’t seen it.
These are our personality now.
The Little Mermaid is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy.
The film stars singer and actress Halle Bailey as Ariel; Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric; Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian; Awkwafina as the voice of Scuttle; Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder; Noma Dumezweni as Queen Selina; Art Malik as Sir Grimsby; Javier Bardem as King Triton; and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula.
The Little Mermaid will release in theaters on May 26th. Have you gotten your tickets yet?
