Caitriona Balfe won us over with Outlander and we fell in love with Belfast, now she’s ready to keep us on screen in Amateur. According to Deadline, Balfe joins, along with Rachel Brosnahan and Laurence Fishburne, to Rami Malek in this action-packed, adrenaline-pumping thriller that will keep us glued to our couch.
Amateur follows a CIA cryptographer who, after his wife is tragically killed in a London terrorist attack, demands his bosses go after them. When it becomes clear they won’t act due to conflicting internal priorities, he blackmails the agency into training him and letting him go after them himself.
Amateur will be led by James Hawes, while Ken Nolan penned the most recent draft. Hutch Parker and Dan Wilson will serve as producers, while Rami Malek will serve as executive producer.
