We all want a balance in life. We work, we do the things that are necessary to live, and we want to spend time with friends and family. But have you ever noticed that when you’re doing everything that you’re supposed to be doing in life, you are also spending an insane amount of time on social media?
Well, a lot of us have lately, especially with the drama that surrounds social media, and the idiot’s takeover of Twitter, we all need a break.
Taron Egerton and Chris Evans are saying goodbye to social media for now. The two are just some of the celebrities that have announced their break.
“I’m going to take a break from social media for a while. I’m not sure why I’m making a big declaration about it; I just think it’s hard to break away from a cycle that I’ve grown to find a bit addictive and this is me making a commitment to myself,” Taron wrote.
“I’ve gotten myself into a place where I spend too much time scrolling and I actually feel like my ability to sit and be present and read books and watch movies and even seek out the company of people I love is eroding as a result. I feel a bit removed from myself. And with regards to work, I know I am capable of more and IG is one of several impediments to me getting there. Thanks everyone for saying such nice things all the time; I so appreciate it but I just need to not read the thoughts of strangers for a while; I’m really not sure this stuff is very good for any of us,” he continued.
We have to say we don’t think anyone expected what was next. Chris Evans shared the post to his Instagram stories and said, “Couldn’t have said it better myself!!! Count me in. Gonna take a little break. Much love everyone!”
While Evans deactivated his accounts for now (which honestly, couldn’t he have left them for us all to stare at), Egerton’s are still there.
TBH, we hope they are having a good time away. We’ll miss them, but everyone deserves space and we respect theirs.
