In Outlander 7×04 “A Most Uncomfortable Woman” while Jamie, Claire, and Ian start their way to Scotland, the Revolutionary War cuts short their plans. As is often the case, the best-laid plans are the first to go to waste.
Thanks to that, the Frasers find themselves embroiled in the increasingly fiery battles leading up to the official start of the American Revolution. Jamie and Ian are left with no choice but to fight and where Jamie goes, Claire goes.
While this is happening, in Outlander 7×04 “A Most Uncomfortable Woman” William, like his father, also finds himself involved in the Revolution, albeit on the other side. A secret mission brings William closer to fighting on the opposite side of his father in the war that is coming.
And in the 20th century that Outlander 7×04 “A Most Uncomfortable Woman” shows us, Brianna and Roger are beginning to adjust to living in a time that they no longer feel like theirs, although it will not be as easy as they thought. They both had a calling and a purpose on Fraser’s Ridge and that’s gone, so they must find their own way in the future.
