We absolutely love a comedy and we love movies that are centered around best friends. After all who doesn’t love a coming of age story? We know that we do. Yes, partially because it reminds us of our youth and partly because we want to be young again.
Today, Netflix released the trailer for You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah and we know that it’s a movie that we’ll be watching. The movie stars Idina Menzel, Jackie Sandler, Adam Sandler, Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, Samantha Lorraine, Dylan Hoffman, Sarah Sherman, Dan Bulla, Ido Mosseri, Jackie Hoffman, Zaara Kuttemperoor and Luis Guzmán (so with a cast like that, who wouldn’t want to watch).
The movie is about, “lifelong best friends Stacy (Sunny Sandler) and Lydia (Samantha Lorraine) have long dreamt of epic bat mitzvahs but when popular boy Andy Goldfarb (Dylan Hoffman) and Hebrew school drama come between them, their perfect plans go comically awry. You are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah chronicles the high comedy and modern teen angst that comes with family, friendship, and first crushes.”
Oy, just watching the trailer hurts. Nothing hurts more than a best friends betrayal. That really stings. We wouldn’t have invited her to our bat mitzvah either – not with that.
You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah premieres on Netflix on August 25th.
